OUT OF PLACE

Date: 29 May – 19 June 2016.

Location: Dnipro.

How does one get a feeling of “home” in a city to which one is forced to move? How does one find one’s own place? What does this depend on?

The multimedia exhibition “Out of Place” deals with the issue of self-identification – in a city, in a society, in history. The project narrates the stories of people who were forced to change their place of residence. The project’s focus enables a broader view of the process: beyond bureaucracy, politics and propaganda.

The exhibition “Out of Place” was displayed on the premises of Yuzhny railway station in Dnipro – a transit zone, a meeting point of the past and the present, a place of indefiniteness when the choice has already been made but the future remains unknown.

The project was implemented with the support of USAID and the European Union.
