A.P.P.I.A workshops are experimental spaces and laboratories where musicians, media artists and performers can develop interactive sound installations with the motion tracking system EyeCon designed by Frieder Weiss.
The Dnipro workshop offered sound and media art professionals and also cross-discipline experts a chance to learn about the basic principles of creating virtual space. A.P.P.I.A workshops were led by experts from Trans-Media-Akademie Hellerau Mattias Hertig (DS-X.org) — introduction to Camera Motion Sensing technology, Jacob Korn (Uncanny Valley) — support in the domain of composition design, digital sound processing and interactive audio processing, and Johanna Roggan (TanzNetzDresden) — performance, dance and motion technique.
A.P.P.I.A. Workshop Dnipropetrovsk was a project implemented in a partnership with Kvartira Art Center (Dnipro) and Trans-Media-Akademie Hellerau (Dresden) as part of the project “Tandem. Cultural Cooperation Ukraine-EU-Moldova”. Most of the equipment and software support were provided by TMA Hellerau and Kvartira Art Center.
